How to Breeze Through Baby Laundry and Mealtimes - Baby Bibs to the Rescue!

Baby bibs are worn by toddlers to protect their skin and clothes from food, drool, or spit-ups. They are absolutely essential, especially if you want to avoid giving your babies a change of clothes all the time! Different types of bibs serve different purposes, and they come in many different designs, sizes, and materials as well. Among the reusable ones (which are more cost-efficient), fabric and silicone are the most common materials used in bibs today.

Fabric Bibs

All babies drool, especially when they are teething. This will happen until they develop better oral muscles at about 20 months old. Excess dribble on their faces and necks may cause skin rashes to develop. During this phase, your babies will require bibs made of absorbent fabric, like cotton, that can wipe away dribble around their mouth. This will also keep their clothes clean and fresh!

As such drool bibs are meant to be worn over long periods, they should fit snugly with fastening options like buttons or snaps, which are used in our LB fabric bibs. They are made with 100% cotton, which ensures good breathability, and are backed with 2 layers of cotton flannel for extra absorbency. Our fabric bibs are also double stitched for extra strength, and they are machine washable!

Silicone Bibs

Regardless of whether you are feeding your baby or they are just starting to eat on their own, a feeding bib will come in handy to keep their clothes clean and the mess under control. These bibs are larger than drool bibs to provide wider coverage, and are usually made up of silicone as they are waterproof and easy to clean.

Our LB silicone bibs are feature molded and come with catch-all pouches! They are made with 100% food-grade silicone and are free of BPA, PVC, phthalates, lead, and cadmium, making them very safe for your little ones. They come with reinforced buttonholes for a durable and adjustable fit as well! Give them a quick wipe down after use, or simply toss them into the top rack of your dishwasher.

Can they be used interchangeably?

While there are no hard and fast rules, we generally recommend our LB mummies to stick to fabric bibs for full-day use, and silicone feeding bibs for mealtimes. Although silicone is a more durable and easier-to-wash material, it is less breathable and suitable for extended usage.

If your kids dislike wearing stuff around their necks, fret not! All our cotton and silicone bibs come in an array of modern colours and cute designs that are bound to pique your baby’s interest and make parenting easier. 😉✌🏼
