#MummiesTime with Nana @nanachronicle

#MummiesTime is a series that features mummies from different walks of life, sharing their tips on how to have me-time in this fast-paced society. We also ask them for tips, advices and stories to encourage new mummies on their parenting journey.

This week, we have young and beautiful mum, Nana, to share with us her overall experience as new mum. She will also be sharing tips on how to achieve work-life balance in this fast-paced society. Her loveable son, Emmanuel, is slightly over one year old now!

How has being a mum changed your life? What’s the best part about being a mum?

Being a mum has changed almost everything in my life. My body, my career, my mindset and my heart - while I can’t say I embrace all the changes, I definitely think the intangible changes made me a better person. I became more matured and learnt to love someone greater than myself.

The best part is definitely meeting my child. Especially when I started loving him since he was an embryo inside me, and watching him grow - developing new skills and milestones daily. He makes my heart so full every day.

In this fast paced-society, could you share with us a tip on how you find your “me-time”!

I think putting your baby into a routine/schedule will definitely help you manage your time better. So eventually when he sleeps for a longer stretch of time, you will regain more me-time!

Could you share with us a short snippet of your birth story/stories?

I was induced for natural labor with epidural on my 39th week because my amniotic fluid was low. I am super thankful that it took 4-5hrs for my cervix to be fully dilated, and my baby, Mannie arrived within several pushes. But I recalled throwing up many times and was slightly feverish due to the side effects of epidural. I was also crying uncontrollably when I first saw my baby’s tiny fingers.

Which is your favourite teether design from our Little Bearnie’s collection?  What do you love about it?

My personal favourite is definitely the Smiley Avocado teether. It is super cute and it was like love at the first sight for me. But I think Mannie’s favourite teether is the Cutie Shiba because he likes to hold onto the grip.

Which is your favourite bib design from our Little Bearnie’s collection? What do you love about it?

I like the Boba bib! It is boba and bubble tea is life, do I need to say more? 😂

Tell us something interesting about your child/children!

The first few words we noticed Mannie recognised are, “Hey Google". Because we speak to our Google speaker at home frequently to play music for Mannie. So every time we say “Hey Google”, Mannie will look at my Google speaker.

Any piece of advice for new mums/mums-to-be?

Parenting is the easiest thing to have an opinion about, but one of the hardest thing to do. Don’t get too discouraged or affected by what other people say, just focus on doing the best for your baby. And always remind yourself to be kind to other new mums.❤️
